My Mares Were Broken-Now They're Blossoming

Both of my mares, Josie and Willow, came out of pretty bad situations. When we first brought them home, neither wanted to be touched or caught. Humans had failed them in so many ways.

Willow, my thoroughbred, was severely malnourished and underweight, and her hooves and coat both looked incredibly deficient. As we started her recovery, we had to slowly and safely increase her feed intake without shocking her system. And she was moved to a new place, so stress management was important as well.

My 4-year-old paint, Josie, had developed ulcer symptoms and had become very cinchy and cranky. We tried many different feeds and supplements—some of which seemed to make the problem worse.

The day I started both horses on Redmond Daily Gold, I noticed a change very quickly. Josie was no longer overly sensitive about being touched on her sides, and she seemed much more comfortable overall.

For Willow, she just blossomed. She looks like a completely different horse now! I started her right away on Daily Gold, and then incorporated Daily Red for additional nutrients. Willow’s hooves are now strong and her coat shines. Both also have access to a Redmond Rock and get Rein Water during the hot months.

While I noticed many positive changes in my horses after starting them on Redmond products, the day I was 1,000% sold on the company was when my boyfriend, Austin, came home to find Willow colicky.

I was over an hour away from home and stuck at work, so I told him to take Willow out, give her a dose of the Daily Gold Stress Relief paste, and see if she would slurp up what I call alfalfa soup (soupy, soaked alfalfa cubes).

Willow wasn't interested in eating, but after Austin gave her a dose of the paste and hand-walked her, she was much more content and her colic symptoms slowly went away.

Now any time my horses have upset stomachs, I give them a dose of the Daily Gold paste and it always helps their discomfort. I was grateful to have it on hand the day Willow was down!

Today, Willow and Josie are both healthy and happy, and Austin and I enjoy trail-riding and spending time with them. The last time I rode Willow she was perfectly content and we had a great ride around the farm!

Being with my horses is my happy place, and my horses' well-being is my top priority. After trying what seems like every product on the market, I can honestly say that Redmond products are the only thing I will purchase for Willow and Josie. I also love how friendly and helpful the Redmond team is. They genuinely care about their customers, and it shows.
