My filly Jin and I had a special connection from the day I brought her home as an unhandled 10-month-old. She’s always been very trusting of me, and I of her.
Until recently, however, Jin was a very unhappy horse. She wasn’t gaining weight, was suffering from ulcers, and would kick out if I even touched her stomach. Add to that her coat was dull, she had a terrible attitude, didn’t like to work, and overall just didn’t look like I wanted her to.
