Twisters' Change of Temperament

April 20, 2020 4:31:34 PM MDT / by Amber Foote

I rescued my horse, Twisters “Quick” Tari, from an abusive ranch four years ago. He’s been slow coming around to trusting a human again, but through patience, spending a lot of time in his world, and offering treats (pretty sure the treats are the secret!), Quick and I have bonded. He now shows his trust by choosing to come to me when I’m nearby.

Quick was trained to be a professional team roping horse in his previous job and experienced notable success. Now I use him as a ranch horse, and we do everything from moving and checking cows, to roping and taking rides on the beach.

I think Quick has probably always had gut problems; I just didn’t read the signs. I knew he had a lot of nerves, but didn’t connect that with causing ulcers. He had myriad symptoms: a poopy booty, stomach discomfort, sensitivity to touch, and weight fluctuations.

Being a concerned horse owner, I felt awful! I felt pity for my horse, and stress from my inability to find a cure for him. I tried aloe, which didn’t help, and marshmallow root, which did, but didn’t provide the day-to-day gut support Quick needed.

Then a friend and employee of Riding Warehouse introduced me to Redmond and hooked me up with some free samples of Daily Gold. I was impressed with the price, ease of use—and especially the fast cure time.

It was only about a week before Quick began improving. His stomach was no longer bloated or sunken in, his behind was clean—without me cleaning it—and I could finally touch his tummy without causing him discomfort. Pretty impressive stuff!

With Daily Gold added to his diet, Quick has undergone an extremely positive change of temperament both on the ground and under saddle. I now have less stress over my horse, and I’m head over boots for Redmond products!
