My eight-year-old gelding Augustine was diagnosed with gastric ulcers caused from pain associated with an infected eye. While Augustine’s eye was removed shortly after the diagnosis, his discomfort from ulcers continued.

I absolutely love thoroughbreds, and my 3-year-old OTTB gelding Ultra Lucky is a beautiful example of the breed both physically and mentally. I love the feeling and freedom of being one with such a powerful animal.

My husband’s 19-year-old roping horse Trigger is quite a special horse. He’ll do anything and everything for our family. We have a 3-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son, and Trigger loves them both. My son can lead Trigger around at any speed, in any direction, and he’ll follow like a puppy dog. My husband can rope steers on Trigger, then pick up both kids and ride triple together.

My calm and collected mare, Biscuit, also known as B, became a wild child the day I moved her to a new barn. Her forage consumption changed, she was turned out with more horses than she was used to—and that turned her into a different horse. She’d throw fits, had a hard time focusing, and overall wasn’t happy.
